Stand on the beach at Plaza Resort Bonaire and look in any direction, and you'll be staring at a string of dive sites that stretches miles along the coast. A short boat ride will get you to dozens more around the uninhabited nature preserve of Klein Bonaire.

You can begin right on the beach with the Plaza's 18 Palms shore dive. An easy sand entry and a short swim bring you to the site where lush coral heads become larger and more numerous as you approach the edge of the drop-off. Beyond that the hard corals give way to sponges and soft corals, all flourishing in the balmy, calm water. Bonaire's variations on this profile and the prolific fish life will keep you coming back for more.

Toucan Diving is Plaza's on site dive operator. This PADI 5-star IDC facility features three 32-foot Island Hopper boats carrying a maximum of 12 divers each, plus one larger boat carrying 18 divers and a flexible dive schedule offering guests a choice of departure times and destinations. Two night dives are also scheduled each week.
