The Scuba Shack is a "family" owned business run by husband and wife team, Martin and Liesel Van Der Touw. Originally from South Africa, Martin and Liesel’s mutual love for diving and love of the Caribbean lead them to decide to move to the Cayman Islands, well known as one of the world’s top 10 diving destinations. They instantly fell in love with Island life and have not looked back since, making Cayman their permanent home. Having lived in Cayman now for over 20 years, managing larger, more commercial dive companies, Martin & Liesel recognized the need for a dive company that dedicated itself to smaller groups, offering a more personalized service and intimate experience for divers. Their own passion for diving is reflected in their commitment to ensuring all their guests have the ultimate diving experience in a fun and relaxed environment. Dedicating our services to smaller groups enables us to focus more attention on our clients’ specific needs and requirements, committing more time to each guest, guaranteeing a high quality service from our experienced and friendly team. We offer valet service, no rushing to meet a resort schedule, flexible dives and dive site selection, we offer two-tank morning, one-tank afternoon and night dives – it’s like owning your own boat.

Cayman Brac is one of three small islands that make up the Cayman Islands. The island offers over 68 dive sites accessible via boat or shore. The shallow dives consist of coral reefs surrounded by sand, and the wall dives are rated as one of the top 10 sites in the world, are breathtakingly dramatic. We offer wreck diving in Cayman Brac, including a famous Russian frigate which was renamed 'Captain Keith Tibbetts'.

Brac Scuba Shack offers all levels of certification and dive instruction to novice divers. Courses include Discover Scuba Diving through to Dive Master and all PADI specialties. Brac Scuba Shack is the first and only RAID scuba centre in the Caribbean. Equipment rental and nitrox services available. We will gladly assist with tank rentals for shore diving , along with recommendations and guidance for dive sites. Cayman Brac offers spectacular shore diving with easy entry.

Both of our Newton 36 Dive Special boats are equipped with comfortable marine head, seating for 10 divers, fresh water shower, emergency equipment including back board and oxygen kit. They have courtesy seats at the back for easy entry into the water with a large swim platform, wide, comfortable and sturdy ladder. Our latest addition to the fleet has an upstairs seating area to enjoy the breeze on a hot summers day. Private charters are available upon request.
